Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) & Microneedling at Amavi Medspa in Bay Shore, NY
Your body has everything you need to be vibrant and healthy both inside and out. Using the most advanced technology available, we can harness your body’s natural healing power with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to intensely revitalize your skin and promote total-body wellness.
PRP isn’t new to medicine; doctors and oral surgeons have used platelets for years to speed healing and to reduce infection risk after transplant surgery. PRP is a concentrated portion of your very own blood containing healing growth factors and stem cells. By releasing potent growth factors into the skin, PRP injections stimulate new collagen and elastin growth for radiant skin with diminished signs of aging. PRP injections at Amavi Medspa can smooth away lines and wrinkles and improve the skin’s overall tone and texture for younger-looking, intensely revitalized skin*. PRP hair treatments can help stimulate new hair growth.
PRP skin and hair rejuvenation can help:
- Soften fine lines and wrinkles
- Improve skin tone and texture
- Reduce pore size
- Brighten skin
- Treat hair loss

Frequently Asked Questions about PRP Skin and Hair Treatments at Amavi Medspa in Suffolk County, NY
How does a PRP facial rejuvenation or hair treatment work?
First, a small amount of your blood is drawn. Next, using a centrifuge, we isolate platelet-rich plasma from your blood, which takes only a few minutes. We then inject PRP into specific areas of the face to stimulate new cellular growth and revitalize the skin. Microneedling is an option after the PRP injections to enhance cellular renewal. Microneedling may be used alone, with PRP, or with a synthetic preparation of hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occurring lubricant in skin.
Is there any downtime with PRP treatments?
With any injection, you may experience redness and swelling at the injection sites. These side effects typically dissipate on their own within a few hours of treatment*. If microneedling is added, downtime is usually limited to that day. With some skin types, however, it may be two to five days*.
When can I see results*?
With PRP skin rejuvenation, you will start noticing improvement within the first two weeks of treatment, with optimal rejuvenating effects after two months as new collagen continues to generate. With PRP hair treatments, it may take multiple treatments over a period of months to see optimal hair growth.
